Bi im am employed to work at st. Anthony`s care home for 44hrs a week as a care assistant, I can be asked to work shifts in our sister home, I am entitled to have 5 weeks holiday per year if I wish to terminate my contract I must give a months notice if my employer wishes my contract they have to give me two months notice, in my contract it states I must attend all mandatory training and comply with policies and procedures
Bii On your pay slip you should have the name of the company that employs you, your full name and staff ID number, the amount you earn. You should also have an idea of the date you will receive the payment. Also any deductions made such as tax and your tax code and social security number should be on there.

Biv the procedure
I would take is if a colleague is doing or has done something that is not right I would approach in a professional manner and ask if they do this in the proper way or not do it at all as it is not the correct way to do so, if is still happening I would report to nurse in charge to deal with the situation, if still not been dealt with I would then report to the manager to deal with and if no further actions have been taken I would then write a formal letter of complaint to area manager as this could not go on any longer within the workplace my role is to make sure that when dealing with written care plans that I have used are to be locked away in a safe place so that others that come into the building are not able to access these as they are confidential unless permission has been given.
If a service user wanted to raise a grievance, if I was in the position to resolve it I could try and help with this situation ,and if it was something that I could not resolve myself I would have to hand this over to my manager so that they can resolve the situation.
if there is conflicts with staff within the workplace you may have to see the manager to have a meeting to try and resolve these conflicts, and also if you have a conflict with a service user you would have to document this in there care plan.
our company policy has a zero tolerance policy on discrimination and if found to be discriminating you could be disciplined.
to ensure the health and safety of yourself and others looking out for hazards and thing that could be a danger to fall and report to your manager.
to keep service users private information locked away from others that aren’t aloud to look in these confidential files and unless you are a doctor etc and that permission is given.
any abuse that has been seen or suspected you must report this to you line manager, and this will be held in confidence so the situation can be dealt with.
Bvi my role contributes by giving the care and support to the best of my knowledge and to help the service users be more independent and make their own choices to be able to enjoy being as independent as they can be and to be able to communicate with other service users within the home.
I can influence the the quality of the service provided by setting a good example and following the the proper agreed ways of working to maintain that the work is carried out correctly therefore the care and support would be at a higher standard ,not carrying out the work role correctly could result in service user being injured or worse and also we as carers are there to be able to help care and support these people that have come into the environment, and is our job to be able to try and promote independents if injury or death occurs this could lead to the company being in disrepute.
codes of practice are the standards that all care workers have to follow and are best practice , national occupation standards are there to inform you that you must be competent in your job role and have the correct qualification and training to do this, The government put in place what is best practice in care homes and set out legislation to maintain the safety of everybody whilst at work, The Guided social care council put in place the standards that need to be followed and cqc put in place qualitie controls to ensure that the work carried out is at a high standard.
