Introducing Teens Lead!
August 17-21, 2009, located on the PSU campus
Applications currently being accepted!
Deadline is May 15, 2009
We proudly introduce our new summer program designed for incoming junior and senior high school girls in the Portland Metro area! This five day workshop is designed to train, educate, and motivate the next generation of women leaders.
Young women can make a difference with leadership skills that further self confidence and inspire interest in community action. The "girls-only" setting of the program creates an effective and safe environment that promotes individual learning and personal growth.
The new Teens Lead program empowers young women to be the leaders and policy makers of tomorrow.
You can download the application and flyer here and please feel free to contact Sunny at 503-725-2895, or email her at nlormail at pdx.edu, for more information!
Thank you to all who made the 2nd Annual Women's Leadership Luncheon a success!
On December 4th 2008, over 415 community members attended NEW Leadership Oregon's 2nd Annual Leadership Luncheon at the Portland Art Museum. The luncheon honored women leaders in Oregon and made the future for new women leaders in Oregon brighter- funds raised will go to support our award winning program and help fund scholarships.
Nancy Floyd, Founder and Director of Nth Power, gave a keynote speech which detailed an important lesson for all leaders- that being involved in civic affairs can snowball opportunities to become a leader in other ways, and in other roles.
We applaud the leadership of our awardees this year, Senator Avel Gordly, Nancy Wilgenbusch, Honorable Vera Katz, Nichole Maher, and thank them for their contributions to the community.
